Chairman Fuming Zhang of the company has served at a state-run professional camera factory for many years. He used to be a technician at the Technique Department, and a chief planner at Planning Department, then salesman at the factory. In 1994, when the structure of the state-run enterprises was being reformed, the employees of factory were laid off. In the circumstances, the chairman together with a technician and 2 workers founded the private-owned SSPC, and developed internationally granted wooden-structured camera 4 x 5. Starting from the first Shenhao wooden camera GJ45 to the current HZX45-ⅡA, SSPC has developed 5 series and 7 models of cameras. The workshop has been expanded from 15 to 1,000 square meters, and the number of employees has been increased from 4 to the current 28, with an annual output of USD20,000 to USD500,000. In the past 12 years, SSPC has experienced both hard times and great changes. Since the beginning, our professional wooden cameras were not recognized by our customers, especially in the first severl years. That was because in the past decades, most of the nationals used camera 4 x 6, a former Soviet criteria, and had little knowledge of camera 4 x 5. However, the personnel at SSPC believe the saying of good wine needs no bush. Starting from quality control campaign, by dedicating himself/herself to the constantly improving products movement, the personnel have developed a series of professional camera parts. Through 4 years of hard work, the Chairman of the board successfully displayed Shenhao 4 x 5 model to the professionals of the world at 1998 Cologne Show, Germany. Since then, SSPC has exporting 70% of its cameras to the world, including North America and Europe, and has agents in the United States and United Kingdom.
